FAQ

General Information

Where are you located?
I am a mobile massage therapist and come to you. I do not have a studio and operate primarily in the Northside neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.

What is included in a massage?
Before your appointment, I’ll send an intake form with a short health history. At the start of the session, I’ll set up the space, review your intake form, and discuss your goals. I’ll step out while you undress to your comfort level and get comfortable on the table. Each session is customized to your needs, so feel free to share areas to focus on or avoid. After the massage, you’ll have time to redress.

Note: Any inappropriate behavior will result in the immediate end of the session and dismissal.

Booking & Logistics

How long of a session should I book?

  • A 90-minute session is ideal for full body massage with 1-2 focus areas (e.g. neck/shoulders).

  • A 60-minute session works well for general relaxation full body or targeting specific areas (e.g., neck, back, shoulders).

How much space do you need?
I recommend a space of about 6x10 ft.

Do I need to have a drape?
Yes, draping is required for your modesty and my professionalism.

But what about my pets?
I love pets and don’t mind them being in the home. However, I ask that they stay out of the treatment room during the session.

Payment & Policies

How do you take payment?
I accept cash, Venmo, or card (note: there is a 3% fee for card payments).

Do you take insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance.

Should I tip?
Tipping is appreciated but not expected. The best way to show your appreciation is through positive reviews, referrals, and repeat business!

During the Massage

The pressure isn’t right, but I don’t want to seem rude or picky. What should I do?
Communicate! Whether you prefer firm or gentle pressure, your massage should feel good. When working deep muscles or tight areas, I’ll ask for feedback to ensure the pressure is not uncomfortable. A good rule of thumb: on a scale of 1-10, the pressure should not exceed a 7. Massage does not need to hurt to be effective.

Is it awkward if we don’t talk?
Not at all. You’re welcome to give feedback or ask questions, but feel free to close your eyes, breathe deeply, and relax.

I might fall asleep!
That’s very common and nothing to worry about, it means you’re relaxed!
